Traffic Phots

Traffic in San Jose

The crowded traffic her uses the "cattle shoot" techinques. Everyone crowds together and squeezes through. It is good for them but too dicy for me! The Tico's are nice about it and don't seem to mind that the other car is one inch from them because they don't use inches here. There is also a nice mix of vehicles (see photo). Many of the streets will remind you of Wells avenue before it was repaved. The best business here is in tires and shocks! Your Traveler

My hostess

Gizelle is my hostess. She gives me guest quarter and has advised me on things "Costa Rican." A man would be lucky to have her devotion. Don't ever complain about crime in the US. At her University where she teaches there are guards with armored vests, pistols and automatic shotguns! The nice homes have bars on the window, iron gates and 10' wallsplus security systems. ADT must be a major employee here. Even the grocery stores have fenced parking lots, guards at the entrances and a receipted checkin procedure (so they know it is your car when you leave.) The ticos will tell you it is because of all the Nicauragans and afew Columbians who are here.

Saturday I am going to Cartoga, Rio de Perlas -a hot springs resort. I have a friend there. :)

Now we can rock!

This is now perfect.
I took the local bus around to Escazu! How many tourists can boast of that! My contact said '"At least you didn't wear shorts and sandels."
Speaking of girls - I am impressed with them.
Dentistry is cheap and seems to be good. I got three cavities filled and one filling replaced for $150. He spoke English and had all the same equipment that my Sparks dentist has.
